Quarter Three

The activity that I am going to tell you all about is when we did our project on MDMA. MDMA is a drug that stands for a very long, scientific name and we had to find out specific information about it. Mr.Vento gave us a specific list of questions that we had to find out about Ecstasy which is another name for MDMA. I thought that it was an appealing drug to research about because I found out that it was once used for medical purposes and that it is a pretty new drug. The questions were about the history, the uses and the street names. The week after it was due, we discussed our answers.

The purpose of this activity was so that we could learn about more drugs that we probably never heard of. It was also so that we begin our drug unit on a good note because it was an easy homework and I think everyone brought it in. Also, we continued on that type of drug after our papers were graded. MDMA is a good representation for “club drugs” so Mr.Vento was trying to give us a good idea of it.

I learned more about MDMA because I have only heard of its other name ecstasy but only in its other meaning, joy. I also learned more about the history of different drugs because I came upon other drugs in my research. Also, I learned more about the type of drug it is because we discussed it in class and someone brought up that it was used in rave parties.

I don’t think that there is much that I could have changed because I got ten out of ten. I think for further research, I could have learned more about its medical purposes. I noticed in my research a chart but I did not include it. It would have been very cool to get though.

This does not relate to my goals which are to become better at reading comprehension questions and to say at least one thing in every class everyday.
