The activity was to write a folktale from the Continent we had chosen for our social studies continent group project. We had to have a story, cover art, and at least one hand drawn drawing. My continent was Africa and I wrote about a snake called Madagascar. It was a fun activity making a story and putting the clay together for my pictures.
The purpose of this activity was so that we could learn more about folktales because the genre that we were reading at that time was folktale. Since we were learning about continents, it connected so we could learn more about our continent and practice writing. The main purpose of this activity was so that we could practice writing because it had to be an original idea and had to be good like the folktales that we were reading.
I learned more about how folktales are made because I had read a lot of folktales and learned about how they are written. We also had to read each other's stories so that we could learn how they wrote their stories. I also learned more about my continent because I didn't want to copy an idea but I wanted to see how it flowed.
I could have change my tittle so that it would look a little neater and better looking. It was a good title but didn't write it that well. I should have also gotten more clay so that I wouldn't have had to color in with pencil crayons. I would have gone and gotten more clay but I had started late so if I had started earlier, the overall appearance of my story would have been better. I had checked my writing myself this time but I forgot to put speech in a new paragraph which is where I lost marks.
This doesn't relate to my goals which are to improve my reading comprehension and to say at least one thing every class.
