Quarter Two

The activity was to make a PowerPoint about any animal we wanted. The PowerPoint had to include information about the animals’ habitat, diet, physical, front page, end page, and predator and prey. The PowerPoint could only have a total of four pictures, notes in bullets, and a sound. We also had to choose a consistent background that fitted the habitat of your animal. We had to have bullet points but what we were going to say would be in the comments section. I chose to do the African elephant. After we made our PowerPoint, we presented to the class.

The purpose or this activity was to learn to make a proper PowerPoint since most people don’t know because they would put a paragraph or they would have too many pictures or sometimes they would make the end boring. Also this activity was to learn about other animals because we got to choose an animal even if we knew the name, we didn’t know everything about it. This activity was also to practice our presentation skills because we had to present after we mad the PowerPoint to the whole class.

I learned that you are supposed to use bullet points because I would usually use paragraphs. I also learned how to add music to a PowerPoint because I would always get confused of the music wouldn’t work. Something else that I learned is how to add notes which is very helpful when you are have a lot to write so you can write in notes and just put the basics on the actual PowerPoint.

I could have changed my animal to an easier animal because I found the same information from every site. I should have also changed my PowerPoint so that the music would play automatically because it didn’t play and I would have to stop and click. I should have also made my PowerPoint look better and have added more humor at the end. Something else I should have worked on is that I should have practiced my presentation more because I was always going “Uh, uh”.

This does relate to one of my goals which are to say at least one thing everyday in every class. It relates because the presentation was oral so I said one thing in class. Since it was a presentation, it counts for more which is good because it helps me speak more in class so that I can become more comfortable.
