The activity was to do a speed test on http://www.typeonline.uk.co/. It tested how many words you could write per minute and how many mistakes you did during the test. We first got warmed up by practising lesson three exercise eight till ten. Then we opened up a test and pressed start clock and began. After we finished, we stopped the clock and got our results. We aimed to get 25wpm with only two mistakes and I got 32wpm with two mistakes.
The purpose of this activity was to how fast you can type while still having a high accuracy. It was also for Mrs.Bosch to see if you are in the right range because it is part of our grade. It also gave us practise for when we need to type up quickly a piece of writing. I think that every teacher that teaches technology has to see where their children are in typing.
I learned about a typing program that I can use to see where I am in typing and also practise on. I also learned more about how you find out how well you can type because I had done a typing test before but it was on a different site and it was a different way of seeing your score. I also learned that if you can learn how to type without looking at the keyboard, then your typing goes a lot faster.
I would change how many times I looked up to see what I needed to type because I would always look up and see what it said. I soon got confused doing that and made mistakes. I also would have maybe done my test earlier because the people around me made to much noise and moved around so I got startled and stopped typing.
This doesn't relate to my goals because my goal is to improve my reading comprehension skills and this has nothing to do with it. Typing isn't something you need for reading comprehension. Itreally doesn't have anything to do with my social goal which is to say at least one thing in each of my classes everyday.
