Quarter Three

The activity was to make a report that had all of your observations from the experiment that you had done with your partner. We first got our partners and then we would make a plan of what we would do. It had to include the title, question, background and hypothesis. Once we got and OK from Mrs.Lennon, we were allowed to begin our experiment. When we were done our experiment, we would have to write a final report on what had happened. We would then begin with our display which had to look nice because we would have to present to a judge. My partner was Dong-In Park and we got ten out of ten on our plan and forty three out of fifty on our final report. We got forty six out of fifty for our display and presentation. Our project was called Music and Plants and we got third place for the science fair.

The purpose of this activity was to learn about observing and making conclusions with detail. It was also to help us when we would have to present to much more important people. Also, since we had to work in partners, it would help us work in bigger groups in the future.

I learned more about plants and different types of music because I saw another team that did the same experiment as us except they used more than one type of music. I also learned how to make a well written conclusion because in my old school, we would do experiments but the teacher would write the conclusion for us. Also, I learned more about different types of projects that I think would be good to research about for fairs that may come up later.

I should have changed my report so that it would have been much more descriptive and made my display have more color. I sometimes felt like I should have changed my partner because we would decide she would do something but then she would make up a bad excuse and I would have to do it, but other than that, she was doing her work.

I think the science fair was a big success because the judges were good and so were the projects. But the space was really small so you had to keep switching rooms. After the judges came, it would get boring but it was really fun to see the other projects.

I thought the questions the judges sasked were good because they were easy to answer. The judges weren't very intimidating which was good because we were able to do a good presentation.
